Discounts on Caravan Insurance Policies

For a professional, the biggest problem is that he does not get enough time to spend with his family. In fact, the current corporate set-up in the world is such that a professionals family barely gets to see him or her on a weekday. As a result of this, there is nothing more satisfying than going on a well deserved holiday for a professional.

If you are in this situation and are in the process of making a plan for a well deserved extended holiday with your family, then you should consider going on a caravan holiday. The reason why a caravan holiday would be so good for you is that it will allow you to spend a lot more special moments with your family than any other type of a trip.

However, in order to go on such a holiday, you will need to purchase an appropriate caravan which can cost you a significant amount of money and, as is the case with any kind of major investment, get it insured. Insurance for such vehicles themselves can cost a lot of money and, after you have already invested money on getting a caravan, this expense can seem a bit much. Thus, it is only logical that you would be looking for a way to reduce the cost of insurance for your caravan.

The perfect way to reduce the cost of insurance for your vehicle is to carefully select the features that you want and get rid of anything extra. For this, you need to take into account all types of contingencies that you think you can face while on the road. Projection is a major part of buying an insurance policy for these types of vehicles because if you have a policy whose features you do not think will ever be useful to you, then the purchase would not really be ideal. Hence, it is crucial that you know how to undertake risk analysis and take stock of potential risks to your caravan before actually purchasing the caravan insurance policy.

Another reason why you need to be able to project is that most policy providers will ask you to provide your mileage estimates. In simpler terms, mileage estimates are your projections of how much you will travel. You should take note that the higher your mileage estimates are going to be, the more you will have to pay.

Moreover, if you are looking for ways to reduce the cost of your caravan insurance policy, you can also try to specifically look for discounts. There are different discounts that you can avail of in terms of insurance policy for your caravan. The most basic of these would be the introductory discount or the club members’ discounts while the more advanced types of discounts are related to equipment on the caravan and voluntary excess. While introductory and club members’ discounts are self-explanatory, equipment instalment discounts are reductions of up to 30 percent for the installation of approved security devices. Additionally, the voluntary excess option can result in a 10 percent discount as well.

Caravan Insurance Quote

Posted on January 24th, 2011 by admin  |  No Comments »

What does the term “caravan insurance” bring to mind?.

Since the very first caravan was manufactured, caravans have come a long way. Today, brand new models can feature a double bed as well as a toilet, a shower, a disposable waste cassette, a water storage compartment, and a well appointed kitchen.

Despite their relatively small size, todays caravans are designed to provide the luxuries of a home away from home. If you are thinking about purchasing your own caravan, it is a purchase that is sure to bring you lots of enjoyment. You will be able to enjoy a trip at any time because you don’t have to worry about finding lodging, or – more importantly- paying for hotels.

Taking care of your touring caravan is relatively simple, and often the dealership you purchased it from will be able to help you. While most people remember to have fun in their caravans, there is one area that many people forget to look into – touring caravan insurance.

Before you purchase a touring caravan, you should spend some time researching caravan insurance. If you already own a caravan, it may be time to reevaluate your current caravan insurance and get quotes from other providers. You can do this one of two ways – you can contact an insurance intermediary directly, or you can do some research on the internet. You can get full details about a caravan insurance policy either way, but by using the internet to look at quotes side by side, you can get a better idea of what different providers have to offer.

The considerations you will need to think about when determining which caravan insurance policy is right for you include the following:

* Price is, of course, one of the most important considerations. Ask the company about criteria for discounts, and see if your caravan has these features. If you have not already purchased your caravan, look for one with safety and security features that will lower your rate. Once you do this, it is likely that you will be able to make a big saving on your insurance.

* Consider the different coverages offered by the companies you contact. Some very inexpensive caravan insurance policies offer only very limited coverage. If you want to get the most out of your investment, you need to find a policy that is both competitively priced but offers the maximum level of coverage for your touring caravan. Look for features that will make any journey worry free.

* When you have selected a policy that you think is right for you, spend a little time researching the insurance provider and check out their reputation, do they have a good track record for paying claims? There are many poor insurance companies out there, and you do not want to find yourself wasting money or being let down when you need help the most. Make sure you are happy with who you are buying from.

Once you have considered all of these factors, you are ready to actually purchase your policy. Buying a touring caravan insurance policy is relatively simple when compared to car insurance policies. You can usually buy the policy directly from your insurance provider using the telephone or online by using your debit or credit card. If you do decide to buy online, make sure you have done your research to prevent being a victim of internet fraud. And then, happy trails to you!

2011 Dodge Grand Caravan Man Van!

Posted on January 10th, 2011 by admin  |  No Comments »

How do you get men interested in a family hauler such as a minivan? You come up with a gratuitous marketing campaign based on a sport model designed for NASCAR dads and off-road guys. That is exactly what Chrysler is doing with its redesigned 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan, by releasing an R/T model for the guys.

Minivan Originator

First some background information. The Dodge minivan was introduced for the 1984 model year with the current extended wheelbase Grand Caravan showing up in 1987. Initially, Dodge and Plymouth models were developed with Chrysler getting its own minivan in 1990.

Chrysler has been credited with starting the minivan movement and when the two remaining models are combined (Plymouth was discontinued in 2001), these models still manage to outsell the competition. Yet, appealing to guys has not been its strong suit, something the Dodge Grand Caravan R/T aims to change.

Man Van

The Grand Caravan R/T we’ll see is not much different from the concept minivan shown at auto shows. This model won’t even have a different engine or transmission, but with the new 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 under the hood paired with its six-speed automatic transmission, Dodge hopes that its 283 horsepower rating and 260 pound-feet of torque will have you thinking you’re behind the wheel of a Charger, Avenger or Challenger. Go ahead – pretend you’re driving a Viper although that sort of mind stretch may mean that you’re delusional!

What the Grand Caravan R/T boils down to is one thing: looks. Those “looks” go beyond the shared refreshed grill, fog lamps, curved wheel wells and body paint found in other trim levels of the Dodge Grand Caravan. Larger sport wheels and a body kit treatment to the nose are among the distinguishing exterior features. Inside, its black and grey interior gets some eye candy stitching across the seats and on the steering wheel. All editions of the Dodge get the same retuned suspension. Combined, Dodge hopes that these changes will get men to say “I want one” when most likely they’ll be having to buy one for the family anyway.

Dodge Heritage

Building a man van goes with the territory whereby Chrysler has separated its Dodge vehicles from its Ram trucks into two distinct brands. “Ram tough” describes the trucks while Dodge is now the performance division for the automaker. That means every model sold must have macho appeal from the compact Caliber on up.

How that plays out in a minivan remains to be seen, but at least the 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan R/T gives it a try. What?! No HEMI?!
